Kimono Fabric Bundles - Series 5
Included in the bundles are 4 pieces of silk fabric sources from Japanese kimono. Various types of kimono supplied the fabric for this bundle, including different furisode. The designs on the panels range from beautiful solid color with a decorative rinzu, to partial panels of decorative designs for a furisode. The white and orange panel is from a furisode that features ribbons, clouds, and carts.
The fabric bolts used to construct kimono are expensive and considered some of the finest in the world. Unlike western bolts found in modern fabric stores, kimono bolts are much more narrow. Western bolts are 45 inches to 60 inches wide. Japanese fabric bolts for kimono are 12 inches to 14 inches wide.
