Shipping & Return Policies

Thank you for shopping with Ohio Kimono! If you have any questions about your purchase or need help, please feel free to contact us via Facebook or Email. Our inventory of authentic Japanese kimono, obi, haori, and more for sale is always changing, so remember to check our site from time to time. 


  • Office Hours: Tues - Thursday 10am to 8pm, EST

  • Travel/Show Hours: All Day Friday - Monday

  • Closed: All Federal Holidays, and the 23rd of each month for tax filings.

  • About Shipping Time: Non-Rush orders take ROUGHLY 3 to 5 business days to prepare for shipping. Rush orders are typically mailed within 1 business day. It can take more or less time to pack an online order based on how many orders we have at any given time and our travel for shows.  Once mailed most orders arrive via USPS within 2 to 3 days. Large non-rush orders of 5 or more items may take 6 to 9 business days. We prepare and ship orders on Tues, Wednesday, and Thursday. Due to shows, we do not ship Friday through Monday.

  • RUSH Order: Need an order by a certain date or asap? For an added fee we can mail your order out in 1 business day. Rush orders are shipped via USPS. Rush shipping options are available at check out. Due to our show schedule, we can not ship rush orders during shows on weekends. We HIGHLY recommend using this feature when ordering if you need the order by a certain time.

  • Address Accuracy: Customers are responsible for the accuracy of their shipping addresses. If an order is mailed to an incorrect address that the customer has provided, we will not refund the lost goods. If an order is returned to us due to a bad address, the customer will be responsible for updating the address to an accurate one and covering the additional shipping fees.

  • Delays: Shipping delays happen through the year due to our show schedule which involves extensive travel time away from the warehouse that we store and ship items from. Please refer to our online schedule for our shows and shipping delays. During show travel and delays we are unable to process ANY orders including rush ones. During busy holiday seasons, we experience delays due to the high volume of sales.

  • Free Shipping: As of Feb 1st, 2019 orders over $75 before sales tax qualify for free non-rush shipping within the USA.

  • International Orders: We use USPS and UPS for shipping. International customers are responsible for any import taxes and the accuracy of their mailing address.

  • Products Are Sold As: On every product page, we have a grading score for the condition of the goods sold. Many goods for sale are gently used and have some flaws. Please refer to the condition posted on every product page to learn more. Items returned to us for those listed flaws have a 25% restocking fee. WE DO NOT OFFER RENTALS - and our return policy is not to be treated as a rental method. Most items on this site are gently used unless expressly stated as brand new. Many items on this site are vintage.

  • Returns & Exchanges: Due to the unique nature of our products we accept returns on a limited basis. If you have any questions about an item, please ask us them before purchase. We accept returns and exchanges at a 25% restock fee, and the customer pays for shipping. Any good exchanged must be in the condition in which it was sold to the customer. Goods returned smelling of pets or smoke may not be accepted due to damages. All goods must be returned in the same condition as what they were purchased as. Alterations to our products purchased will result in a refusal to refund.

  • Sales Taxes: Per Ohio State Law we are required to charge and pay sales taxes on all online orders. The sales tax rate is 7.25%.

  • Special Handling: The USPS charges $10 to use special handling for any package that is frail. We recommend that customers buy this option when shipping anything delicate like an antique, or pottery. In choosing not to purchase these option customers risk damaged goods during shipping. Ohio Kimono is not responsible for damage to goods during shipping.

  • Tracking: All orders are shipped via USPS or UPS with tracking, which will be emailed to the customer directly once the item has shipped.
