This exceptional black antique nagoya obi is made of silk and features a fully hand embroidered great sailing ship with full sails that include the Japanese hemp leaf design. At the base of the ship are rolling ocean waves, and in the sky overhead are birds in flight with clouds. This obi is a unique and wonderful demonstration of exceptional Japanese embroidery, ideal for display.
 
Obi Condition: C, this antique silk obi has some points of wear where it is thin, at some points the embroidery NOT on the main design have come lose, and there is some overall structural weaknesses. The main ship design is in good condition, making this obi ideal for displaying and collecting, but not wearing.
