This flat braid obijime is in the style of mofuku, which is worn during mourning. The braid used to make this obijime is a nice open weave which might be suitable for summer kimono wear. Obijime are a decorative cord worn atop of women's Japanese kimono, specifically atop the obi. Koshihimo and obijime are two different things.
