This elegant vintage hanhaba obi is off-white and red on oneside with a shamisen pattern. On the otherwise is a solid red hemp lead pattern. Either side of this obi may be worn outwardly, making it two obi for the prize of one. Obi do not hold kimono onto a person's body, but rather are a decorative accent. Obi are formalities and gender expressions. This kind of obi is considered informal for women.
