This elegant vintage women's nagoya obi features is hand painted with a gourde design. The gourdes are in the style of those used to drink.
 
Obi are worn atop of Japanese kimono and are a decorative element. Obi do not hold kimono on a person's body, rather himo are used to tie a kimono onto a person. Much like kimono obi have their own formalities, styles, and accessories.
 
This obi is a woven design and is thin and flexible.
