These shoes are known as okobo, and are most often associated with apprentice geisha known as maiko, and also Japanese brides. These shoes are blank, making them idea for decorating further. Some cosplay costumes also make use of this kind of shoe. The base of these shoes are wooden, and the bottom has a rubber foam sole for comfort. The straps on these shoes are red.
