This vintage double sided hanhaba obi features on one side a two-tone red checkerboard design, and on the other side a solid off white pattern that resembles a basket weave.  The leaves are a darker shade of blue than the background. This obi is thick and is most likely made of silk. This obi was once most likely a maru, or fukuro obi that was converted into a hanhaba style.
