This elegant vintage formal women's obi is white and silver with a woven design that is made up of figures from the Heian court: guards, princesses, and noble figures with curtains.  This kind of obi is considered formal women's attire and would commonly be worn with more formal kimono such as furisode, or tomesode. Obi do not hold a kimono on a body, and are decorative in nature.
