The single greatest perk of owning a kimono store is being able to see so many great kimono first hand. In every shipment there are treasures to be discovered with details that photos fail to do justice for. The year of 2017 was a big one for Ohio Kimono with both good and bad. We watched with a heavy heart as one of our customers and friends lost her long battle with cancer, and on the other hand as our mother battled back stage 4 ovarian cancer who is still going strong.
Kimono are something beyond just clothing, for us they are fashionable works of art that tell their own unique story. From the simple yet playful yukata to the most formal of furisode each kimono makes its own style and statement.
In 2017 we also launched our online kimono store which has been a success and a lot of fun. In looking back through the year it is only fitting that we share out top 10 favorite Japanese kimono from 2017.
