We have some really exciting new to share! We have finished securing a new warehouse on the west coast! That is right! We have a new expanded base of operations in Portland, OR! Our aim with our new west coast warehouse is to serve Portland, Seattle, and San Francisco! The stock at our new warehouse on the west coast will be 100% different from the online store, and our east coast warehouse.

We recently added a new katsura wig to our online kimono store! This wig is interesting, as most people are use to seeing only the bridal ones. This katsura wig is in the style of Yuiwata, which is most commonly today worn by maiko. This style was also popular among trendy young women in the Edo period. Maiko are apprentice Geisha. This authentic katsura wig is made from real human hair, and has a metal frame on the inside of it to support the wig.

When our online kimono store was much smaller, many purchases shipped same day from our warehouse. However our business has since grown to a point that we can no longer operate in this manner. It has been a very busy week for us here! A large selection of inventory just arrived from Japan, and we are trying our best to work our way through all the lovely new kimono and obi. Included in the shipments were some really lovely antique nagoya obi, and stunning silk furisode kimono. As of today we have added many of these items for sale in our online kimono store. This past weekend we were excited to be a part of the Michigan Renaissance Festival in Holly, Michigan. We were honored to be their first ever kimono dealer at the festival, and had an amazing time. The Ren Fest is a really fun event, and we loved being a part of it. Our entire weekend was one long party, and the community is made up of some mega history nerds and fun people.
