Obijime are most often worn atop of women's nagoya, fukuro, and maru obi and come in a wide variety of styles and even formalities.     Photos From Kimono Anniversary

    This past April marked the 10 year anniversary of Ohio Kimono. We celebrated by hosting a one day special event and kimono outing at the Schedel Japanese Gardens in Elmore, Ohio. This limited engagement included entertainment, lots of traditional Japanese kimono on display, and free admission.     This week we have worked on further expanding our selection of hanhaba obi! We have in stock a full selection of women's hanhaba obi ranging in a wide variety of colors, designs, and sizes. Hanhaba obi are an informal type of women's obi most commonly worn with informal kimono such as yukata.     We had a wonderful weekend at Tekko 2019. Returning from the show we are back to the grind with the online kimono store and this week are working to round out a few parts of the online store. This week we are focusing on adding a number of accessories for Japanese kimono to the site including but not limited to geta, and obidome. Geta come in a wide variety of styles, and genders.     This year we saw a marvelous selection of beautiful haori pass through our store. The majority of our favorite haori were vintage, with a handful of antiques.     The New Year is almost here, during this time there is a lot of self reflection to be done. We like to look back through the year and reflect on the beauty and good of the world. One of our favorite things to do is create a list of our top favorite Japanese kimono we sold. As many of you understand most authentic kimono are one of a kind, and are vintage or antique. The traditional techniques used to decorate some of our favorite traditional kimono include meisen, and yuzen.
