We recently added a new katsura wig to our online kimono store! This wig is interesting, as most people are use to seeing only the bridal ones. This katsura wig is in the style of Yuiwata, which is most commonly today worn by maiko. This style was also popular among trendy young women in the Edo period. Maiko are apprentice Geisha. This authentic katsura wig is made from real human hair, and has a metal frame on the inside of it to support the wig.

We recently got in a section of stunning Taisho era michiyuki. These silk coats pre-date ww2 in most cases, and are almost all hand sewn. Taisho era wafuku is especially prized for the quality of the fabric, and the longer sleeve lengths. Imagine our surprise, when we checked one of the pockets of a coat only to discover money!
